about

“Invisible Enemy” was written at the very start of the lockdown and was inspired by a conversation Georgia had with a colleague of hers, Roberta - Georgia works as a Learning Support Assistant in a college for her day job. Roberta said, “Don’t you think it’s crazy that whenever we’re usually unwell, we feel we have to be the hero and push ourselves to go to work, but right now, to be the hero is the other way round?” This really resonated with Georgia and built up an image in her head of superheroes saving lives by staying at home, which laid the foundation for the song. Sonically “Invisible Enemy” is very theatrical in nature, showcasing cinematic soundscapes reminiscent of something from a Bond movie.

lyrics

[Verse 1]
Pray to the Gods to guide us from the war
Later be mindful of the battle floor
Invisible enemy
Another man down
The bodies are piling
Under the ground

[Chorus]
And can they see?
To lock our doors is unity
The heroes stay inside to breath
The rest are losing mouths to feed

[Verse 2]
Going in blind
We’ve never seen your kind
Terror refined
The soldiers fall in line
The spy inside
Charges in to earn demise
He won’t abide
Invader disguised

[Bridge]
Blown to smithereens
The crumbling of the Earth is un-benign
Brushed off the prophecy
It carried in the wind
And now it’s time…
It’s time…

[Chorus] [x2]
And can they see?
To lock our doors is unity
The heroes stay inside to breath
The rest are losing mouths to feed
